Sharing an office can be difficult at times, but that doesn't mean it has to be dirty.
Here are 7 tips on places you may have missed while doing rounds.
Keyboards
Want to know what's harboring more gross than your office building's toilet seat? Try taking a look at any of the keyboards in your office. Research by the University of Arizona found the average workstation keyboard has 400 times the bacteria than the average toilet seat. So give that keyboard a good scrub with sanitizing wipes.
Plant leaves
But plants live in dirt, right? Yes, but they don't naturally live inside of office buildings, so they can collect all kinds of grime from the foot traffic. In addition to negatively affecting plant health, those dirty leaves can also serve as an insidious sign of a dirty office. You may not see it initially, but you can feel the presence of it. Next time you walk through an office building, take a look.
Books, folders, and files
Anything with corners can easily gather dust. Have you ever picked up a book and started sneezing? Wipe those books down for a cleaner space.
Desk drawers
On and around desk drawers, for sure, but also inside of them. Office drawers tend to turn into the equivalent of a junk drawer at home over time. When was the last time you took a peek inside yours?
Inside the fridge
Hmmm...a suspicious brown bag marked "George." Who's George? You ask around and find out that George was a guy who ate a tuna sandwich for lunch every day, and he hasn't worked here for three years. Uh oh.
Telephones
Just like keyboards, telephones are often overlooked when sanitizing, but they get hands on them all day long.
Chair arms
Your chair arms, your office mate's chair arms, waiting rooms, guest seats—all of them.
